Southern Cross University has a business opportunity for the right person or people in hospitality. SCU is looking for a hospitality team to run its catering, take-away and dining operations from the Deck&Lounge (unibar) on the Lismore campus.

“It’s a unique opportunity, one we have never advertised before through the Expression of Interest process,” said Director, Property Services Danika Head. “We are looking for someone with a long-term perspective, who can both grow the business and align their commercial activity with the University’s growing needs and philosophy of sustainable business.”

The Deck&Lounge is a fully equipped facility waiting for the right operator.

The large dining, bar and events spaces are complemented by a full commercial kitchen including equipment, all furniture, crockery and cutlery and glassware, as well as audiovisual equipment and a stage, for a total 720 square metres of space overlooking the sports oval and surrounded by the lush campus gardens.

The facility is located between the University’s busy gym and pool and the bustling Plaza, the central hub of the campus.

Following the floods, the University is now home to approximately 30 community service groups and businesses, three schools and a TAFE. They join the current cohort of nearly 1,000 University students and more than 900 staff members based at the Lismore campus. There are also two campus colleges located within walking distance of the Deck&Lounge.
