It's been almost 11 months since the floods and the closing of The Channon Tavern, a favourite venue, with a great, friendly atmosphere and beautiful outlook, among many locals in the hills and beyond.
In order to celebrate, the owners have something special for the Lismore and Nimbin Hills community, posting on social media:
"Well guys, it's happening.
Thank you so much to everybody who has been helping us along, you know who you are.
We can't wait to see you all enjoying the pub!
Plenty of you should already be familiar with Two Tears In A Bucket, and thus know that they rip! For those that don't know, check them out: https://www.bluesmamawithtude.net/
The band describes themselves as "Dobro Blues Punk from the city streets meets Blues Mama from a goat farm…"
We'll still have bar snacks and whatnot available, but our kitchen is still behind a few weeks at least, so we'll be outsourcing our feeding for a while!
So, for proper food we've got En-Joy Thai Food coming down from 4-8pm, have a suss of their menu here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083293687200
Here is the official event page, kindly written up by Michelle from Two Years In A Bucket:
We are going to open our doors officially at 2pm, for those of you that want to sneak in a schooner before it gets chokkaz!"
The Channon Tavern is located 51 Terania St, The Channon NSW 2480, 25 mins drive from the Lismore CBD. As always, if you attend the event and plan to drink, make sure to plan a ride with a designated, sober driver and take care on those roads.
