TC Alfred FREE waste drop-off ends Sunday

Lismore City Council is reminding residents in the LGA that the FREE drop-off period for waste generated due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred's impacts ends tomorrow (Sunday) at the Lismore Recycle and Recovery Centre.

The items included are:

  • General waste from flood-affected properties.
  • Green waste from storm damage.

This service will cease at the close of business at 4pm on Sunday, 23 March 2025.

Council asks residents to:

  • Please ensure green waste is free from general waste.
  • If any load is found to contain asbestos not properly double-wrapped and sealed in plastic, it will be rejected.

You can expect longer wait times, so be patient as the operation comes to a close.

As for other council assets, GSAC and the Lismore Memorial Baths have reopened, are fully operational and back to their regular operating hours.

The Lismore Regional Gallery has been closed all week but is now reopened for visitors after carefully returning artworks to their exhibition spots.
