Swing into the excitement of the first-ever Friday Lismore CupViva Racing's Mitch Lowe and Lismore Turf Club's Scott Jones are excited about the upcoming Lismore Cup Festival.

The Lismore Turf Club, in collaboration with prominent Lismore-based horse syndication business Viva Racing, is implementing significant enhancements for September’s Rodney Lees Cabinetmaking Lismore Cup Carnival.

This year, the cup will be held on Friday, 27 September, the first time in the cup's history that it will be run on a Friday.

In addition to this new schedule, the event will expand with the inaugural Viva Racing Lismore Cup Golf Day and Calcutta, set to tee off on Thursday, 26 September, at the Lismore Golf Club.

Scott Jones, Secretary Manager of the Lismore Turf Club, said the move to a Friday is an exciting opportunity for the future of the Cup.

“It allows us to expand our offerings and ensures minimal disruption to local businesses, making it easier for them to participate and support this iconic event,” he said.

“Adding the Viva Racing Lismore Cup Golf Day and Calcutta to the calendar made perfect sense. We've always aimed to expand the Lismore Cup into a multi-day event to add value for our attendees and bring more economic benefits to Lismore. This year, we're especially eager to see the positive impact of these changes on our community.”

This four-man Ambrose golf event promises an exciting afternoon of fun and competition. Participants can enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch while soaking up the lively atmosphere and excitement of the game. The event also offers the chance to win incredible prizes, including an impressive $200,000 for a hole-in-one on the 2nd hole.

Whether you're an avid golfer or just looking for a great day out, this is a fantastic addition to the Lismore Cup carnival. Following the Golf Day, the excitement continues with the Lismore Cup Calcutta, hosted upstairs at the Lismore Golf Club. Each participating team will receive $200 worth of Calcutta tickets. This is the perfect way to get into the spirit of racing for the Cup the next day.

Tickets to the Viva Racing Lismore Cup Golf Day and Calcutta cost $600 per team, with a maximum of 36 teams available. Each team entry includes four general entry tickets to the Rodney Lees Cabinetmaking Lismore Cup.
