Local Chef Greg Andren saw a need for Lismore to have something to enjoy on a Sunday Night, a place to go and meet friends or get takeout, after a big day with the family.

After years of cooking as Head Chef at The Eltham, Greg stepped back to focus on family, and then after bub number 2 came along, he decided to take some time away from cooking to be even more present, and has now chosen to recreate his love of food, into something for the community, with a fresh flavour and focus - The Rolling Eathouse was born!
Brendan from Dark Horse Espresso offered their venue, which is otherwise unopened at night time, for the Eathouse to begin, and this week will be its fourth week since conception, where food and fun come together, with a simple menu, opting for local ingredients where possible.
Greg said he looked at what has become an increasingly popular option for hospitality business owners looking for flexibility, a food truck, but he decided to think outside the square and chose to begin, by collaborating with Dark Horse Espresso during the time their venue was not in use.
This isn't the first collaboration of its kind in Lismore, with reports of similar businesses sharing staff to get others up and running, and others opening up their premises to host a coffee van, it seems Lismore is embracing the collaborative mindset of multifaceted offerings, and the benefits to their business and to the community.
The first night Greg says "was abominable". It happened to coincide with the last major flood warning, and he says "there I was slinging spaghetti and meatballs, with extra staff on, while people all around me, were packing up and raising things, it was bizarre."
Thankfully this time around, as we all know, the flood never came, and Greg decided to continue on. He says "each week I come up with the menu and post it on Instagram, then people can come in, or get takeaway, and we can have some of the great Lismore nightlife back in the CBD, but on a Sunday!"
He told The Lismore App "it's been a success so far, the community seem really keen for it, and I've been mindful to keep the prices fair, with full awareness of where the community is at."
While the Rolling Eathouse may continue its journey elsewhere in the future, as a roving offering, for now, Lismore can head down to enjoy it at Dark Horse Espresso on The Strand Arcade, Level 1 74/78 Molesworth St, Lismore.
From 5pm Sundays until sold out. Dine in or take home. Cash or card payments accepted
Menu posted to Instagram (@rollingeathouse) weekly along with dietary information.
