Summerland Way has alternating traffic conditions in place at The Risk, north of Kyogle, due to a serious motorcycle crash that occurred around 3:08 this afternoon.

Emergency Services and Transport for NSW are in attendance.

Expect delays if you need to drive in the area north of Wiangaree.

It is believed a man in his 40s was treated for chest injuries before being flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

Summerland Way was closed in both directions for two hours before the alternating traffic conditions came into place.

Ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
