Lismore based subcontractors and small businesses can apply to help Richmond Valley in the clean up after the recent bushfires.
The NSW Government has appointed Laing O’Rourke to coordinate the clean-up of fire damaged residential and eligible commercial properties in the area. This includes both insured and uninsured properties.
Laing O’Rourke are now accepting expressions of interest from local suppliers and subcontractors that may have capability and capacity to provide goods and/or services in affected regions.
Project spokesperson Ian Hudson said subcontractors are being sought from all regions, but preference is being given to those directly affected by the fires, followed by regional suppliers.
The clean-up of bushfire-impacted properties may include the removal of known hazardous materials, including asbestos; the removal of materials destroyed by bush fire and hazardous trees, and; with the consent of building owners, removal of concrete slab foundations.
Laing O'Rourke will work with subcontractors and local small businesses to ensure they are engaged in the delivery of the clean-up process – providing much-needed stimulus to local economies.
