Storm head to Ballina for Sunshine Conference basketball

The Lismore Storm will travel to Ballina for the Sunshine Conference Senior Basketball on Saturday.

The Men's Division 1 side will play Round 2 of their competition, with the Women opening their season against the Breakers.

Last weekend, the Lismore Men's Division 1 side defeated Grafton 85-71 in the opening round.

Kaleb Jeffery top scored for the Storm with 31 points, Toby Barlow added 23 and Lochlan Maguire opened his account with the side, adding 18 points of his own.

The Men's side will be depleted for the early game, with injury and work commitments decimating the side this week.

In the strange timeslot for senior basketball, the Men will take to the court at 11:00am on Saturday, with the Women to follow at 1:00pm.

The Women come off a strong showing in the NSW Waratah League, with the match promising to be a close encounter with the always strong Ballina outfit.

The Women will need a strong defensive effort and look to score at every opportunity.

The Storm's Division 2 Men will play their first home match of the season when they play Yamba in Lismore on Saturday evening.

The Division 2 side went down to Tweed Valley 96-62 last weekend in their opening match, but will look to regroup at home against a young and quick Trawlers side.

The match will start at 5:00pm at the Lismore Basketball Stadium.
