The final inconvenient hurdle in visiting Brisbane was removed by NSW Health last night when the stay-at-home order for people in NSW who have been in Brisbane and Moreton Bay, or who wish to enter NSW from these Queensland locations was lifted.

While we have to complete a Declaration Form to enter NSW again after a visit, this is a small price to pay if you had aspirations to visit family and friends in Brisbane or take the kids to the Gold Coast for the rest of the school holidays.

You do need to monitor the daily close contact and casual contact venue list in case the situation changes and so you don't visit a venue accidentally.

All people who have been in Greater Sydney since 21 June must, however, continue to follow the stay-at-home orders until 14 days have passed since they were last in Greater Sydney.

Declarations are still required when people enter NSW after being in Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria. 

However, under an exemption signed today, people living and working in Queensland border areas who frequently enter NSW must now complete a declaration every 72 hours instead of every 24 hours. The declaration confirms they have not attended a venue of concern as specified by Queensland Health.

The declaration form is available on the Service NSW website, and can be completed in the 24-hour period before entering NSW or on arrival. The information gathered via the travel declaration is vital in allowing NSW Health to contact travellers if necessary.

Interstate travellers who have been in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria in the past 14 days, with the exception of those living in the NSW/Victoria border region, must continue to fill out a declaration on entry into NSW.

Interstate travellers who have been to a close contact venue must not enter NSW unless they are a NSW resident, or transiting to the ACT. If they are in NSW, they must self-isolate until it has been 14 days since they were last at the close contact venue.

Interstate travellers who have been to a casual contact venue must not enter NSW unless they are a NSW resident (or transiting to the ACT) or they have had a negative COVID-19 result after being at the venue. If they are in NSW, they must self-isolate until it has been 14 days since they were last at the casual contact venue or until they receive a negative COVID-19 test result. 

NSW Health urges all interstate travellers to regularly check the Victoria Department of Health and Human Services website,Queensland Health website, WA Health website and NT Government website for recently added venues of concern linked to recent COVID-19 cases.
