The Star Court Theatre will be bringing back the old-world charm and true beauty as its restoration program continues.
The goal is to optimise what was hidden since the last renovation in the 1990s. Some of the materials that were used in 1910 and 1930 have survived time and many floods will be making a reappearance when the works are completed.

The preliminary scope of work had the objective of restoring much of the original ceiling of the front half of the arcade, including the ceiling directly outside the Star Court Theater and tying this into the back of the arcade via pressed metal features, lighting and hidden windows of the Gatsby Bar.
Local architect Mark Floate was hired to ensure a cohesive design which will then be presented to interested contractors to obtain quotes. If the costing and timing come back favourably it is expected that this work will commence in July 2022 and be completed in August/ September 2022.
As is the case with many local businesses the rebuild will involve flood-resistant material as much as possible to minimise damage when Lismore experiences its next flood.
This means using as little gyprock as possible.
After the February 28 megaflood
Electricity has been returned to the front, rear and upstairs meter boards and currently all shops in the rear and front of the arcade have been connected with temporary power.
The fire alarm system has been replaced and re-energized every shop owner now has access to power to proceed with the repair of their respective space. Thanks to Shayne Quinn Electrical professional services (SQE).
Lighting in the central corridor will occur alongside the ceiling repair and replacement. It is expected that this will occur during the month of August.

Another part of the CBD with a strong Lismore history will be back in full swing in spring.
