South Lismore FC have taken out the 2022 Newcastle Permanent Football Far North Coast Men's Premier League title after defeating Richmond Rovers on Saturday.

The Celtics were dominant in their 3-1 victory over this years Point Score Champions in front of a large and vocal crowd.

The club has overcome extraordinary circumstances to lift the trophy in 2022 after their home ground was destroyed in the catastrophic floods in February and March. The club had to play and train away from home for the entire season, which made fundraising and building club culture difficult.

The club rallied after struggling for numbers mid season and secured both the Men's Premier League and Men's League 6 titles this weekend.

Noah Coleman also scored for Souths with Rovers lone goal coming from Lachlan Maslen.

It was also a big weekend for Premier League Coach Rick Austen who guided the team to victory after scoring the winning goal to defeat Goonellabah FC in the League 6 Grand Final.

Celtics Captain Paddy Kable was announced as the Men's Premier League Player of the Year after he and Connor Whitehall were named in the FFNC Men's Premier League Team of the Year.
