Showers and potential thunderstorm when you wake up on Friday

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a wet Friday from early in the morning with the possibility of a thunderstorm in the late morning to early afternoon.

A cold front associated with a low-pressure system is moving across eastern Australia bringing rain and thunderstorms to parts of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

While most of the rainfall has been inland as the front sweeps across the state, Lismore should receive between 10 and 15mm tomorrow, lighter than the 15-30mm experienced by some areas today.

The BOM says the front will move offshore Friday night clearing the way for a perfect weekend.

Mostly sunny is the prediction for Saturday with a top of 24 degrees followed by a sunny Sunday and a maximum temperature of 23.
