As the forecast heavy rain for the Northern Rivers pelts down on us and the NSW SES has given Prepare to Evacuate advice for parts of North and South Lismore the Northern Rivers NSW SES has opened the Evacuation Centres in Lismore at Southern Cross University and Murwillumbah TAFE.

The statement from NR's SES said:

We acknowledge that there is a significant amount of uncertainty and anxiety in the community at this time.

If you are considering relocating early - we strongly encourage you to reach out to family and friends.

If this is not an option for you - here are the details of some Open Community Spaces where you may seek refuge.

• Lismore - Southern Cross University (P Block), Military Road, East Lismore NSW 2480

• Murwillumbah - Murwillumbah TAFE, 146 Murwillumbah Street, Murwillumbah NSW 2484

• Kingscliff - Kingscliff TAFE, 806 Cudgen Road, Kingscliff NSW 2487

• Banora Point - Salvation Army Hall, Cnr Leisure and Woodlands Drive Banora Point NSW 2486
