Sean Russo training in Lismore for Paralympic selectionSean Russo, who is training at Trinity Aquatic Centre with head coach Simon Watkins, is aiming for selection at the Paralympics.

Sean Russo is a dual Paralympian and dual IPC World Championship medalist who was on the Australian Dolphins Swim Team from 2010 to 2017.

Throughout his career Russo racked up a number of honours including multiple world records in backstroke, individual medley and distance freestyle.

Sean retired from the Australian Dolphins Swim Team with a shoulder injury in 2017 but has decided that he is ready to give the Para Swimming tree a shake in 2020 and throw his name into the mix for Paralympic Team Selection.

Sean has returned to his long term coach Simon Watkins, head coach and manager of Trinity Aquatic Centre, Lismore, to give his bid for the team the extra that it needs with the pair having racked up multiple records, titles and awards during their time together.

Sean, who is known for his skills and technical prowess, is hoping to convince the APC and Swimming Australia that he has another paralympics ahead of him.

Sean’s personal best times rank him in the top three in the world on current results and after time trials this week Sean and Simon know that they can deliver this result for Sean and Australia.
