School returns for Term 3 on Tuesday across the Northern Rivers and regional NSW.

Apart from being aware that the 40 kmh speed limit in school zones will be active from 8am Tuesday, parents should be aware of the guidelines set down by the NSW Government and Health Authorities.

Any student who has flu-like symptoms must remain at home until symptom-free. If you do not get a COVID test then you are to remain at home for 10 days until symptom-free. If you have had a COVID test you are to provide that result to the school.

Masks are mandatory on public transport for students 13 and over, so if your child does catch a bus to school please makes sure they have a mask to put on before boarding the bus or they may be refused entry.

While at school, mask-wearing is not compulsory but highly recommended for students and staff in all indoor settings.

No non-essential visitors are permitted to enter the school grounds. All parents and carers are asked to use the designated drop-off and pick-up zones.

Finally, from tomorrow all businesses and indoor venues will require you to sign in using the QR Code and this includes schools if you do need to enter school grounds.

We may have to accept these restrictions as the norm for a few more weeks unless Greater Sydney starts to see a decline in community-acquired COVID-19 cases.

Yesterday, NSW, or rather Greater Sydney, had 50 new locally acquired cases. Of those 50, 26 cases were infectious in the community. This is up from 44 reported on Friday.
