A brilliant spell of bowling by quick bowler Jordan Salkeld was the difference between Marist Brothers and Goonellabah Workers Sports in the clash of two of the leading clubs in Northern Rivers Cricket League's First Grade competition at Neilson Park, Lismore.
Salkeld finish the innings with figures of 4/5 off seven overs (three maidens) in the stormy conditions to inflict the first defeat of the season on Goonellabah Workers Sports, the 2018 Premiers and 2019 Joint Premiers.
Marist Brothers bowled out Goonellabah Workers for 102 in just 24.5 overs, passing the total in the 30th over, with just five wickets down.
Salkeld picked up the wickets of Riley Gregor (17), Riley Beckham (3), Reece Gregor (0) and Lachlan Bensley (0) but it was his line and length that had many impressed.
Only four Goonellabah Workers Sports batsmen reached double figures - Andrew Kemmis (33), Nick Battese (20 not out), Riley Gregor (17) and Michael German (16).

Another quick Jake Muscat finished with figures of 3/30 off six overs, with pace bowlers Michael McKendry 2/28 and James Fennamore 1/12 off four overs.
The run chase was steady but controlled, with opener Matt Cleaver (23) and Luke Hamshaw (38) compiling the bulk of the runs before Daniel Hamshaw completed the win with 18 not out.
It was a good psychological win for Brothers over their rivals after veteran batsman Pat Martin was unavailable for the match and Luke Collings was called up to the LJ Hooker side just before the match started. Goonellabah Workers were without explosive opener Kale Hare, last season's leading run scorer in the competition, and experienced all-rounder Brad Robertson.
