Tropical Cyclone Alfred did not just cause havoc for people in the Lismore and Northern Rivers; it also affected people's fur babies.
The SCU evacuation centre had a section set up for pet owners who were ordered to evacuate with cages, leashes, collars and pet supplies.
Now that life is returning to normal and people have been back in their homes for a week, the NSW RSPCA want to help those in need.
The NSW RSPCA Emergency Response team will set up a pop-up relief point at Nesbitt Park, South Lismore, today (Saturday, March 22) to provide veterinary advice and distribute essential supplies.
Residents and their four-legged friends are encouraged to visit RSPCA staff and volunteers between 10:30am – 3:30pm to collect pet food and supplies proudly donated by the Petbarn Foundation.
All dogs should be on leads, and cats in carriers.
