Rovers and Souths to decide FFNC title

South Lismore and Richmond Rovers will fight out the Men's Premier League Grand Final on Saturday in East Lismore.

Both sides came through nailbiting Semi Final wins after Souths defeated Alstonville and Rovers eliminated Byron Bay in similar fashion last Sunday.

Both matches were decided on penalties after the sides could not be separated after normal time and extra time.

Rovers and Souths are familiar with each other games after playing twice in the last month, with Rovers taking a 3-0 win and then Souths closing the gap for a 1-1 draw in the last round of the regular competition. These results will mean nothing on Saturday afternoon.

Souths will look to the experience of Murray Towner and Patrick Kable and the consistent goal scoring ability of Ezra Frost up front.

Rovers strong backline, which includes Shayne Smith, Mitch Holland and Ben Morgan, will look to repel any Celtic challenges to release the attacking speed of Jono See and Ethan Allen.

Both sides possess exceptional goalkeepers at the back with Rovers Chris Jones and Souths Luke Condon having exceptional seasons.

The large crowd which is expected will be in for a excellent match to decide the 2022 FFNC Men's Premier League title.

The match will kick off at 4:00pm at Bill Harris Field in East Lismore.

The Women's Premier League Grand Final will see Alstonville FC take on Goonellabah FC at Crawford Park, Alstonville, with kick off at 2:30pm on Sunday.

The Men's Championship League Grand Final will be played on Saturday at 12:30pm at Bangalow between the Bluedogs and Byron Bay FC.
