Roberts and Ferguson dominate for Dirawongs

Tyrone Roberts and Desmond Ferguson have dominated for Northern United in their victory over Murwillumbah on Saturday.

Roberts crossed for a double and had a hand in several other tries in toe 40-14 win over the Mustangs.

Ferguson managed to convert 6 from 7 attempts to finish with 12 points.

Other try scorers for the Dirawongs included Tayden Hickling, James Roberts, Denzel Dangerfield and Alistair Faulkner.

The Dirawongs have steadied a mid season form slump and have been impressive in recent weeks.

The organisational skills and experience of Tyrone Roberts and James Roberts have certainly helped since their return.

Young fullback Jakequan Roberts Welsh had a strong game replacing Hezekiah McKenzie, who was injured in last week clash with the Rams.

Northern United bounced back with a strong effort after a heart breaking last minute loss to Marist Brothers last weekend and stay in touch with the top 6, remaining in 7th spot.

Reserve Grade had a narrow 26-22 win over the Mustangs who sat in 4th spot and the U/18's went down to the ladder leaders 32-18.

Northern United will travel to Casino next week to take on the Cougars in another must win game
