Apart from the ongoing road maintenance and resurfacing around the city like the Bruxner Highway or the bridge works in South Lismore, there will be some delays if you are travelling to Casino or up the coast this week.
Casino will have changed traffic conditions tonight (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday) night to carry out important maintenance work at the intersection of the Bruxner Highway and Summerland Way (Johnston Street/Centre Street roundabout).
The roundabout will be closed to all vehicles except B-doubles while they resurface all lanes.
To minimise impact to motorists, work will be carried out at night from 6pm to 6am, weather permitting.
Detours between Lismore and the Casino CBD are available via Walker and North streets, between Kyogle and Casino CBD via West and North streets and between Kyogle and Lismore via Dyraaba and Walker streets.
Normal traffic arrangements will be in place outside work hours. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
There will be changed overnight traffic conditions on the Pacific Motorway at the Tugun Bypass Tunnel from this weekend to carry out essential maintenance work.
Routine maintenance of the tunnel is carried out every three months and involves a range of measures including inspecting the various operating and safety systems.
To reduce the impacts on motorists, work will be carried out over five nights. The tunnel will be closed to all traffic from 8pm to 6am AEDT each night from Sunday 20 February. Work is expected to be complete by 6am AEDT Friday 25 February, weather permitting.
On the night of Monday 21 February, northbound and southbound traffic will detour via the Kennedy Drive interchange. Southbound traffic will re-enter the highway at the Kennedy Drive on-ramp.
On all other nights, traffic will be diverted at the Gold Coast Highway interchange. Northbound and southbound traffic will be diverted onto the Gold Coast Highway and Stewart Road during the closure.
The tunnel will remain fully operational during the day.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow up to 10 minutes additional travel time, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
