Traffic delays for motorists in Goonellabah can be expected this weekend while road maintenance work gets underway.

The Bruxner Highway will see road resurfacing work carried out near the intersection with Invercauld Road.

Transport for NSW advises that traffic will be restricted to one lane in both directions at times on Sunday June, 21 between 8am and 5pm while the work is carried out to provide a stronger, longer lasting and safer road.

The intersection of Invercauld Road and the Bruxner Highway and the intersection of the eastern end of Kellas Street and the Bruxner Highway will be closed while the work is carried out, with detours in place.

Motorists should allow an additional five minutes travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
