The Marist Brothers Rams and Northern United have won through to the NRRRL Trophy Series Grand Final.

The Rams defeated the Tweed Coast Raiders 38-34 in a hard fought encounter at Oakes Oval.

Try scoring doubles to fullback Hezekiah McKenzie, winger Oshae Hannaway and prop Aidan Kennedy helped Marist Brothers to the narrow win.

The Rams defeated the Raiders fairly comfortably several weeks ago, but the Raiders came to play on Saturday and stretched the home side until the final siren.

In the other Preliminary Final, Northern United edged out Mullumbimby 44-34 at Clifford Park.

A double to lock Brett Kelly and a 16 point haul to fullback Eddie Walker-Williams were the highlights for the Dirawongs.

The sides will now clash next weekend in the Grand Final to be held at Oakes Oval.

In other matches, both clubs will contest Semi Finals in the Ladies League Tag competition on Sunday.

The Ramettes will take on Cudgen at Murwillumbah in the Major Semi Final and Northern United will play the Bilambil Jets in a sudden death match in Byron Bay. Both matches starting at 10:45am today.
