Rams and Dirawongs on the road to more points

Marist Brothers and Northern United will play away games in Round 16 of the NRRRL competition on Sunday.

Marist Brothers travel to Yamba to take on the Lower Clarence Magpies and will look to bounce back after a last start 22-18 loss to Ballina.

Northern United will head west to Casino to play the tenth placed Cougars after a comfortable 40-14 victory over Murwillumbah last weekend.

On recent form and ladder position, both sides go into the match as favourites, but recent rounds have seen several major upsets and both clubs will be out to secure the 2 points on the road to the finals.

Brothers sit in fifth position, and need to win to stay in touch with the teams positioned from second to fourth, who are all just 2 points ahead.

The Dirawongs sit 1 point outside the top six and will look for a win to put pressure on the sixth placed Byron Bay.

United will look to their talented backline to overcome the Cougars, with young fullback Jakequan Roberts Welsh in good form, and the experience of Tyrone Roberts at five-eighth steering the ship.

For the Rams, halfback Shallin Fuller is in superb form and will cherish the space that props Lochie Perren and James Durheim create.

Reserve Grade matches will start at 1:15pm and U/18's at 12:00pm, however the Cougars have forfeited their match against Northern United's U/18's side.

Both First Grade matches will kick off at 2:45pm.
