It looks like being a wet week for Lismore and the Northern Rivers with the heaviest rain expected on Friday and Saturday.
Steven from the Bureau of Meteorology said at this stage there is quite a wide range of rainfall predicted because it is still too far out to accurately predict how intense the approaching rainband will be when it hits the Northern Rivers, if it does eventuate.
At the moment, there is a low trough coming through the region with rain falling in inland parts of NSW leading to showers when it reaches Lismore.
Lismore can expect 0 - 2mm today (Tuesday), 2 - 5mm Wednesday and 0 - 1mm on Thursday.
The developing rain band will come over the ranges on Friday afternoon with more "widespread rainfall", the BOM are saying they are uncertain of totals at this early stage. We will get more certainty if you check the BOM forecast on Thursday, this you can do easily through the Lismore App Weather.
Right now, the forecast numbers are 8 - 20mm on Friday and 20 - 35mm on Saturday before easing off with 1 - 4mm on Sunday.
As Steven mentioned, this weather system is one to watch depending on the rainband forming midweek, IF it does eventuate.
