Primex kicks off this morning with People's Day at 9

The Richmond Valley Events Centre was a hive of activity yesterday as 370 exhibitors from all over the state were setting up their displays for Norco Primex 2022.

There were tractors, heavy machinery, trucks, motorbikes, cars, caravans and more getting ready to show you their wares tomorrow (Thursday), Friday and Saturday between 9am and 4pm.

To get this year's Primex underway, People's Day was declared by CEO Bruce Wright a few months ago, which means any resident in the Northern Rivers has free access at any time today. The easiest way to gain entry is to book your ticket through the Primex website, although you can get tickets at the gate but you will need your proof of residency so a driver's license or a similar document that displays your address.

During the busy set-up day Bruce Wright told the Lismore App, "Yeah, this is very exciting actually, to see how much gear is coming in and the range of exhibitors that have travelled and so many local businesses that are getting back on their feet and are just looking forward to a great three days."

"It is our pleasure to support the community by giving anyone that's from the Northern Rivers the opportunity to come in and see Primex even if it is for the first time. They can come in for free and check out what we're about."

"I think that we've got a retention that anyone who comes here about 90% of the people say they're going to come back for more."

The important weather forecast is looking perfect with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting sunny skies and warm temperatures that will increase to 32 degrees on Saturday. Sunscreen will be on the agenda rather than umbrellas which certainly makes a pleasant change.

"The rain we had on Tuesday was just enough to save us getting the water truck in, Bruce said, "The conditions over the last three weeks have been awesome for the region and for us, and everyone can just get around here so easy. So we're looking forward to the big crowds getting around and enjoying what should be one of the biggest events we've had in about 10 years."
