PRIMEX is back with a full foodie experience in 2022

PRIMEX has been a part of the Australasian agricultural field days calendar since 1985.

Over time the event has evolved from a localised event with around 40 companies and a few thousand visitors, to one of the country’s leading primary industries expos. It now boasts in excess of 400 exhibitors, 1,000 different companies and more than 25,000 visitors across the three days. Primex is one of the 'must go to' events on the Northern Rivers calendar.

Following postponement earlier this year due to the floods, organisers are delighted to be bringing the popular event to the community in November.

Norco PRIMEX 2022 will be held at the Richmond Valley Events Centre at Casino from 10 - 12 November.

Over the next seven weeks, the Lismore App will be looking at what Primex 2022 has to offer.

Today, we feature the brand new Nourish Food Fest Marquee and the popular Paddock to Plate Pavillion.

Launching at Primex 2022, the Nourish Food Fest Marquee will take place in a newly created outdoor space under a big food festival marquee, creating a true food festival ambience right in the heart of Primex. This is where you will have the opportunity to buy, taste and share local food and drinks.

When you are ready for something to eat and drink, head to Pavillion 5 (closest to the Bruxner Highway). See the Interactive Map on the Lismore App Primex button INTERACTIVE SITE MAP.

You can enjoy lunch from the likes of Junkyard BBQ or something sweet from OMG Donuts and wash it down with a beer from Two Mates Brewing or a gin and tonic from Critters Distillery.

‘We are offering a full foodie experience centred around our fully licensed Nourish Food Fest Marquee and the Paddock to Plate Pavilion which offers a great range of local producers to browse, along with a full three-day program on the cooking stage,’ said Norco Prime Director Bruce Wright. ‘We will be bringing together the best of our food and beverage experiences to showcase how our farmers grow world-class food and fibre from our region’s food bowl.’

Kicking off the Paddock to Plate program on day 1, Thursday, November 10 is Darren Robertson from Three Blue Ducks.

Then on Friday, Masterchef contestant and Native Food Queen, Mindy Woods will be cooking as well as holding Native ingredient masterclasses and education sessions.

On Saturday the event will host wellness guru chef Samantha Gowing who will share some simple entertaining recipes and her favourite easy pesto’s featuring the region’s local Native Macadamia Nut.

Supporting locals

Northern Coast residents (from Coffs to Tweed) will be able to attend the event for free on PRIMEX People’s Day, Thursday 10 November. After the tragic effects of the floods, this is an opportunity to come together in a positive environment, relax with family and friends, and heal as a community. Tickets are only available online and must be purchased prior to entry.
