A police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic violence-related offences.
In December 2022, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Drove to investigate reports of historical domestic violence-related incidents between 2017 and 2021.
Following inquiries, a 31-year-old senior constable - attached to a command in the Northern Region - was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Wednesday 17 May 2023), for two counts of common assault (DV).
He will appear in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday 5 July 2023.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
