Lismore police are looking for witnesses to come forward following an accident at the Ballina/Wyrallah Road roundabout at 1:10pm this afternoon.

The accident occurred between a corolla driven by an 88 year old woman and a truck or semi trailer.

The 88 year old is a Ballina resident travelling to a dentist appointment in East Lismore when she was allegedly turning left at the roundabout where she was sideswiped by the truck causing the corolla's windows to shatter. The badly shaken woman was driven by local friends to her GP then driven home while her car is a write-off.

The truck driver allegedly stopped, got out of the truck, yelled at the woman then drove off down Ballina Road.
