Police investigate suspected drowning at West Ballina

Police are conducting investigations into a suspected drowning at West Ballina.



About 9.30am (Saturday 22 October 2022), a member of the public located the body of a man on the bank of the Emigrant Creek near Smith Drive.


The man is believed to be aged in his 30s and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, of slim build, with short brown curly hair, and has a beard. He was wearing a green t-shirt.


Detectives from Richmond Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
