Police are appealing for information following a fire at an unoccupied school building in Lismore on Friday.


About 6.30pm on Friday 28 March 2025, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a school on Lake Street, North Lismore.



Firefighters extinguished the blaze; however, the school – which had been unoccupied since the 2022 floods – was extensively damaged.


Three firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion, with one of the firefighters taken to Lismore Base Hospital for observation.



There were no reports of injuries to members of the public.


Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.
