Police appeal for information after Casino attempted robbery

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery which left a man seriously injured at Casino early this morning.


At about 3.30 this morning (Friday, 8 November 2024), a man was in a parked vehicle at Crawford Square Casino when he was awoken by an unknown man who demanded his mobile phone and a motorbike, which was attached to the vehicle.



A struggle ensued, and the man who was in the vehicle sustained wounds to his arm, chest and back. The unknown man fled the scene a short time later, empty-handed.


A member of the public who was nearby drove the injured man, aged 26, to Casino Hospital, where he is being treated for suspected non-life-threatening injuries.



Police were subsequently notified by the hospital and immediately commenced inquiries into the incident.


A crime scene was established by officers attached to Richmond Police District, which will be forensically examined.
