Plenty of changes for the return of LJ Hooker League

There will be plenty of changes for Lismore's LJ Hooker League teams on Saturday with the return of the competition after the Christmas/New Year break.

Goonellabah Workers Sports will head to Hill Park Oval to play fifth-placed Alstonville in what should be a close affair, with Goonellabah six points clear of their opponents on the ladder.

GWS will be missing bowlers Reece Gregor and Alec Watson for the clash. Watson is the team's leading wicket-taker this season with 16.

Goonellabah will need to pick up the wicket of the competition's leading run scorer, Kyle Yager, early if they want to restrict the Alstonville total.

Marist Brothers will be without a host of players when they host Cudgen at Oakes Oval.

Brothers will be without key batsmen Pat Martin and Cooper Williams, Zayd Thomas and bowler Jeremy Perkins.

Israr ul Mabood and Tom Parsons have been added to the side.

Sixth-placed Marist Brothers need a win to stay in touch with the top four after several losses at the end of 2025.

They take on a Cudgen side that sits in third spot and will be looking to consolidate their place in the finals race.

Both matches will start at 1:00pm.
