Plenty of basketball action in Sunshine Conference triple header

There will be plenty of basketball action on Saturday afternoon when the Lismore Storm host a Sunshine Conference triple header.

The Storms' Senior Men's and Women's teams will take to the Albert Park courts, with close match-ups expected.

The afternoon of action will tip off at 2:00pm, when the Storm's Division 2 Men take on the Tweed Valley Volcanoes.

The Volcanoes sit in second place, with the Storm in sixth, with the two teams meeting way back in Round 1.

The Tweed side took the win, but the Storm side has won two out of their last three matches and will go into the game with plenty of confidence.

The Division 1 Men's team then take on the Coffs Harbour Suns at 4:00pm, in what should be a cracking tussle.

The Storm side sits in second spot, with the Suns in fourth, but the last time the two sides clashed in Coffs Harbour, the home side took the victory 100-94.

Lismore will need a whole team effort at both ends of the floor to ensure they come away with the points.

Zac Knight and Toby Barlow have been the big contributors on the offensive end, with the Storm needing more offensive threats.

The Storm Women will complete the big day of basketball when they take on the Ballina Breakers at 6:00pm.

The Breakers and Storm sit in second and third, respectively, and have met twice this season, with both games going to Ballina.

It will hopefully be third time lucky for the Storm, who come off a narrow 62-57 loss to Coffs Harbour last weekend.

The Storm had strong offensive contributions from Kiara Richardson, Makayla Greensill and Poppy Latta against the Suns, and this needs to be repeated this week for the Storm to turn the tables on the Breakers.

Entry is free, canteen facilities are available and the action starts at 2:00pm and will run through to 7:30pm at the Lismore Basketball Stadium in Keen Street (Albert Park).
