Patston to make Titans NRL debut

Ex-Marist Brothers Ram backrower Josh Patston will make his debut for the Gold Coast Titans on Friday night.

The 26-year-old has been playing Queensland Cup in recent years and will make his NRL debut against the Manly Sea Eagles at CBUS Super Stadium at Robina.

Patston who currently plays with the Ipswich Jets, has had stints with the Sunshine Coast Falcons, Tweed Heads Seagulls and the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup.

The second rower will come off the bench in the clash with the Sea Eagles, with the home side looking to return to the winners' list after a heavy defeat to Brisbane in their last match.

The Titans will also be missing two of their best performers with skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and prop Moeaki Fotuaika both out on Origin duty.

They currently sit in 17th position on the ladder, only 5 points outside of the top 8.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00pm.

Patston will add his name to a list of Marist Brothers Rams who have played NRL on the Gold Coast, joining names such as Terry Dardengo, Tony Durheim, Andrew Hodge and David Mead.

As a hard-running backrower with the Rams, Patston was one of the club's leading try scorers in his last two seasons with the club before heading north to try his luck across the border in 2022.
