Local charity Our Kids today hosted their annual golf day to raise money for specialist equipment to support a handful of babies each day, who are born prematurely in our region.
Dr Chris Ingall, a man that has touched so many young families lives, not just as a paediatrician going about his work but as a man with a bedside manner that should be bottled, told us today "we are raising money for specialist equipment, software in fact, which monitors the CO2 in the humidicribs which allows us to adjust levels of oxygen much more specifically, for better outcomes. These are being used at all big hospitals and it's exciting to have this coming to Lismore through the work of Our Kids today."
Rebekka Battista the Director and Fundraiser for Our Kids told the Lismore App "we had such a great response from the community when we were able to run the Darryl Chapman fun run earlier this year, and today, the response has been enormously positive, despite everyone here being affected themselves in one way or another, the Lismore Business community has come to support us, and while some of our regulars are missing, there are so many here, with so much enthusiasm to support this event, it's been wonderful to see. We are aiming to raise $10,000 for Our Kids for this equipment today."

Football Far North Coast General Manager Steve Mackney generously started that off with a contribution of $1500 for the tournament today saying "I'm here representing the sporting community of Lismore, and while we have had an undeniably tough year, it's great to see the community come together in support of such an important charity, doing what we do best, coming together to support one another."
Mayor Steve Krieg was in attendance saying it's great to see the sun out, and to come together for something so positive, in the sunshine, and on what I hope will be a ground in good condition for the game, after the rain we have had.
The men who pull it all together, the organiser team Peter Warren, Ray Lindwall and David Seymour were all over the moon with the conditions today and have been working hard together to put this special event on since 2005 and should be congratulated for what was an event that was just as important for the recipients of the proceeds, as the competitors themselves, at a time when Lismore truly does need to down tools, and have some reprieve through connection and some fun!

Winners on the day were the team from Sommerville Laundry Lomax won the four-man ambrose event with the team from Scott McKinnon Electrical coming in second. For many, it was a day for a bit of fun and a few drinks with a $10,000 goal for an incredible charity.
