The FREE flood concert One From The Heart that the Lismore App announced yesterday has no more tickets available, they were gone within 24 hours.
After emails and Facebook posts were received, a check on the booking website Moshtix shows the ominous words "allocation exhausted".
"Allocation Exhausted - So am I and hundreds of others. Not your fault I realise but another kick nonetheless" was typical of the comments rolling in.
Steve said "Would have been good if they had organised it so that everyone who wanted to go who was flood affected could go....NOT HAPPY.."
At yesterday's launch, legendary concert promoter Michael Chugg said the Lismore Showground venue would cater for 11,000 people which he said would be a "Nice comfortable full-house."
10,000 tickets would be given to the postcodes most affected by the February 28 catastrophic flood, 2480, 2471 and 2472 so basically Lismore, Coraki, Broadwater and Woodburn. 1000 tickets were to be sold to people outside of those postcodes and go sale on Saturday 30 April. It remains to be seen if this remains the case given how passionate people are about the One From The Heart concert.
Michael was asked what if tickets were gone within days to which he replied, "I think you'd be standing half a mile away across the railway tracks and I'm sure there will be a lot of that going on."
While there are definitely some disappointed locals not successful in getting a ticket allocation, safety is a major concern for the promoters in any venue and let's face it, Lismore does not have a 20,000 person venue in which to hold such an event. Oakes Oval is under reconstruction following the floods which realistically only leaves the Lismore Showgrounds.
The Lismore App understands a meeting will be held later this morning with a response to follow the meeting.
