Lismore City Council is closing the first 1km section of Oakey Creek Road, Georgica (from Jiggi Road) tomorrow (Monday, 25 March) between 7am to 5pm for temporary pavement repairs.

The repairs will last approximately four days, depending on weather conditions.

During this period, traffic will be redirected via Gwynne Road, with limited access granted to residents within the affected section.

Works include pothole repair and reshaping of the heavily damaged areas of the road toward the Oakey Creek bridge. At the same time, maintenance activities, including clearing drains and roadside verge upkeep, will be undertaken.

The primary objective of these works is to convert severely damaged segments into gravel roads temporarily, ensuring the safety of motorists until a permanent solution is determined.

Updates for the works will be shown on the onsite electronic signage. Access for residents through the closure site is a priority, however, please be aware of potential wait times.
