A health worker has been assaulted at the Lismore Base Hospital after attempting to treat a 37 year old female last Saturday night.
Around 10.45pm a 33-year old registered nurse was attending to the woman who presented at the hospital.
The older woman was verbally abusive before striking the nurse, injuring her eye.
Police subsequently charged the 37 year old woman with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, and assault authorised officer in exercise etc of functions (Public Health Act 2010).
The woman was then issued with a future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Lismore Local Court on 12th October 2020.
