NSW SES put out thunderstorm warning for Saturday

NSW SES has released a warning from the Bureau of Meteorology for Severe Thunderstorms for the Northern Rivers tomorrow (Saturday) saying they are 'likely'.

The NSW SES Facebook page said, "This Saturday, we are expecting severe storms in the northeast region. It’s crucial to stay informed and take precautions to ensure your safety."

"Here’s what you need to know:

  •  SEVERE STORMS LIKELY: There is a high likelihood of severe storms in the northeast. These storms can bring about significant impacts.

  •  LARGE HAIL (>2cm): Be prepared for large hailstones, which can cause damage to property and vehicles. Stay indoors and protect yourself from potential harm.

  •  DAMAGING WINDS (> 90 km/h): Strong and gusty winds are expected, which can lead to tree damage, power outages, and hazardous conditions. Secure loose items and stay away from outdoor areas.

  •  HEAVY RAIN: Heavy rainfall is anticipated, which may result in localised flooding. Take necessary precautions and avoid areas prone to flooding.

  •  VERY DANGEROUS STORM IN FAR NE: In the far northeast, there is a possibility of a very dangerous storm. This storm may bring about destructive winds, giant hail, and intense rainfall. Stay vigilant and follow all safety instructions.

The Lismore App will keep you up to date when a storm warning is issued by The Bureau tomorrow. You can also stay up to date easily through the Weather & Travel button on the front page where you can see the latest Weather (including warnings) and the Weather Radar.
