Nimbin man charged over 'hit and run' on family dog

A man has been charged with Negligent Driving and Cruelty to Animals after a hit and run incident in Nimbin.


Police will allege that on the April 21, a Nimbin man deliberately ran over and failed to stop to render assistance to a beloved family dog named Huey.


The incident occurred at the intersection of Tuntable Falls Road and Upper Tuntable Falls Road, Nimbin.


Police thank witnesses who rendered assistance to Huey and provided information to police.


Legal proceedings have commenced against the driver.


Police are pleased to inform the Nimbin community, that Huey survived his injuries however costing his family thousands of dollars in vet bills.



Huey is at home, safe and well with his family, enjoying doggy treats he received from local police.
