Nimbin and the surrounding communities impacted by landslips are invited to an information night this Friday (28 June) from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, at the Nimbin School of Arts Hall, 47 Cullen St, Nimbin.

The event will feature several speakers:

• Ivy Young from Richmond Landcare Inc. will discuss how to repair landslips on a shoestring budget.
• John Grant from SCU will talk about different types of soils and how to reduce the risk of landslips.
• Mark Dunphy from Firewheel Rainforest Nursery will cover planting strategies to prevent and remediate landslips.

Additionally, there will be discussions by the Red Cross about CRTs and other programs, and by the Community Recovery Officer on recovery needs and issues.

Free supper, tea and coffee will be provided, along with music from Mandy Hawkes and Christina Webster.
