New venues of concern identified in Lismore and CorakiCentrelink Lismore

As investigations continue into Lismore's latest positive COVID-19, Northern NSW Local Health District has announced more venues of concern for residents to be aware of.

Lynne Weir, Acting Chief Executive Northern NSW LHD said to 8pm Wednesday 15 September, there was one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in a resident of Northern NSW Local Health District. This case was originally reported yesterday.

One further case was infectious in the Lismore area from 7 September to 12 September, but is no longer in Northern NSW.

New venues of concern have now been identified including two more in Lismore itself and one in Coraki:

This is in addition to the two venues identified yesterday:

  • Silly Solly's on Keen Street from 8.55am to 9am on Tuesday, September 14.
  • Lismore's Lifeline shop on Magellan Street from 9.05am to 9.20am on Tuesday, September 14.
  • Muzza's Milk Bar on Oak Street, Evans Head from 1:15pm to 1:45pm on Sunday, September 12.

Anyone who attended the above venues at the times listed is a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result. Please get tested even if you have had a test in recent days.

Ms Weir said. "NSW Health sends a text message to people who have checked in at contact venues with further information but urges anyone who has attended these venues at the times listed to get tested and isolate."

"If you are directed to get tested for COVID-19 or self-isolate at any time, you must follow the rules given to you by Health staff, whether or not the venue or exposure setting is listed on the NSW Health website."

"All residents of the Lismore LGA, and anyone who visited Lismore since September 7 are subject to ‘Stay at Home’ requirements."

"Please continue to check this page regularly, as the list of venues of concern and relevant health advice are being updated as new cases emerge and investigations continue."

"Anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms is urged to immediately come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received."

Hospital visitor restrictions

"To protect our patient and staff community, hospitals right across Northern NSW Local Health District are continuing to restrict visitors from entering their facilities," Ms Weir said.

"Women can continue to nominate one support person during their labour, birth and post-delivery."

"We appreciate that this does inconvenience our patients and their loved ones, and we thank you for your understanding."

"For exceptional circumstances, such as for palliative care, please discuss your needs with management at the facility."
