If you are heading out on a bushwalk for a hike, a new phone app could save your life.
Police encourage all bushwalkers to be prepared by downloading the Emergency + app on their mobile phones.
The Emergency+ app is a free app developed by Australia's emergency services and their Government and industry partners.
The app uses GPS functionality built into smart phones to help a Triple Zero (000) caller provide critical location details required to mobilise emergency services
This app, along with a portable mobile phone battery charger could save your life!
Having access to your phones GPS location saves emergency service workers valuable time and resources in locating lost or injured hikers.
You can download the app at: https://emergencyapp.triplezero.gov.au/
