A new festival is set to hit the Lismore Showgrounds on September 16th, 2023.
The inaugural Hazy Dayz festival promises to be an unforgettable day of craft beer, delicious food and live music from some of Australia's most beloved festival artists, including The Beautiful Girls, Lisa Mitchell and Bob Evans.
John Elsley is the owner of the Sherwood Hotel and the event organiser. This is his first attempt at an event of this scale.
"I've been in the hospitality game for a while and we have had a few events in Newcastle and Maitland," John said, "It is going to be an awesome day. Bring the family to the showground, throw a rug down and enjoy some craft beer and some live music. It's not like a full-on music festival, it will be a bit more relaxed."
The event will be showcasing some of the region and Australia’s finest craft beers, including Lismore’s own Two Mates Brewing.
"We're stoked to be bringing Hazy Dayz to Lismore. We've worked hard to create a festival that celebrates everything that's great about the Northern Rivers region - from the amazing people and produce, to the incredible local food and music scene," John added.
Hazy Dayz will also offer an incredible selection of food stalls. Local bands are also being invited along to showcase local talent." We're passionate about supporting locals, and we’re looking to engage our local community as much as we can."
While the date is set for Saturday, September 16 John is still waiting on Development Application approval from Lismore City Council before he can sell tickets which John feels confident about receiving.
The Lismore Showground is booked with North Coast National but cannot be confirmed until the DA is approved. Lismore City Council told the Lismore App the DA is currently being assessed.
While the approval process runs through its course, the Hazy Dayz festival is set to be a highlight of the 2023 events calendar into the future.
"It's going to be an amazing event and one we hope will become a regular on the festival calendar, bringing new visitors and life to the region."
