New CBD Burrito Bar opens in time for Christmas Owners Dileep and Lucky are ready for the grand opening!

If you are stuck for food on Christmas day, Lismore’s new Burrito Bar, Smokin Burgers n' Ribs and Sweet Republick ice cream shop will be open for trading.

The new food venue for both take-away and in-house, table service dining is set to open today or tomorrow (depending on final approvals from Council).

It’s located downstairs from Lismore Central Shopping Centre on Carrington Street. It will be open 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week.

One stop shop

The new shop is the business venture for food lover, Dileep and his two business partners – who’ve been waiting for eight months to open the shop – after Covid delayed the refitting of the new shop.

Encompassing three distinctly different brands of food, the ‘one-stop shop’ means you can bring the family and all eat different food, depending on your desires.

Decorated to show distinct differences in cuisines on offer, the shop is a journey through culture and colour.

At the front is a Sweet Republick ice cream parlour, decorated in fun colours of orange and pink. Inside are two different restaurants – a burrito bar in clean crisp white – and a smoking burgers and rib joint, decorated in black, red and neon, in a dark moody American style.

Too many Indian restaurants

Business savvy Dileep said he’s wanted to open a business in Lismore for a few years now - but wanted to open a shop that sold a different style of food to the others in Lismore.

“There’s already a lot of Indian restaurants in Lismore,” he laughed.

“My friend and business partner Lucky used to run an ice cream and burrito bar and his father ran a restaurant, so I suggested to him that we open one here.

“I’m really happy that we finally get to open and we are employing 43 local staff to work in the shop.”

Dileep said his favourite food at the new shop is the crispy chicken burrito wrap, closely followed by the beef quesadilla.

“It’s a great place to get a healthy wrap, as well as burger options – and we cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten intolerant people too.”

Special deals

If you aren’t sure what to eat, you can try something every day because each day, there will be different special deals.

Monday features $2.50 tacos, Tuesday is the 2 for 1 burrito deal, Wednesday features 50c wings with a drink. From Friday to Sunday, the special is a half rack of pork rib, fries and a soft drink for $17.95

Every day, there’s the la comida lunch special from 11am to 2.30pm, where you get a burrito, fries and a drink for $11.95.

There’s also alcohol on offer, with cocktails, shots and Mexican beers in bottles. Icecream is economically priced at $3.95 a scoop – with a special opening deal of $2 for a scoop of ice cream.
