New cafe set to open on Molesworth Street

There’s fresh paint on the walls and the coffee machines are being set up in the new Piggy Bank café on Molesworth Street. The café, at the front of MP’s the Meeting Place, is the new venture of The Bank café owner Brad Rickard.

Brad said he has been busy setting up the new “hole in the wall” cafe – on top of running The Bank cafe and The Loft restaurant.

Brad said the Piggy Bank is set to open in about three weeks’ time and he’s excited about it.

“It’s going to be good, clean, honest lunches for office workers and the business community,” Brad said.

“It will offer simple salads, wraps, rolls cakes and coffee. There are no gimmicks, no fads - just affordable, fast grab and go food.

“It’s a lot of work to organise it – I’m a busy man at the moment.”

Brad is looking forward to seeing more life come back to shop fronts in the CBD, with so many shops currently being unused.
