Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash near Murwillumbah

A man has died after his motorcycle was involved in a single-vehicle crash near Murwillumbah over the weekend.


Emergency services were called to Kyogle Road at Byangum, about 7km south-west of Murwillumbah, about 4.15pm (Saturday, 27 September 2025), following reports of a crash.


Members of the public provided first aid at the scene before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the motorcycle rider.



The rider – a 50-year-old man - was unable to be revived and died at the scene.


Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.


A report will be prepared for the coroner.
