Marist Brothers captain Brendan Mitchell was on fire against Lennox Head on Day 2 of their clash at Megan Crescent.
Defending a total of 297, Mitchell struck early, with the help of Owen Bensley (1/38) and Hamish Weekes (1/9) before the Lennox Head middle order settled.
Daniel Hamshaw (1/8) was able to take the important wicket of Max Ingram (43) before Mitchell continued on his wicket taking ways, eventually finishing with 7/63 off a marathon 25 overs.
Marist Brothers eventually took the match by 71 runs, bowling Lennox out for 226 in 72 overs.
It was Mitchell staring with the ball after Pat Martin struck with the bat in the first innings with 92 off 54 balls.
Marist Brothers will host Alstonville at Oakes Oval next weekend in a two day match on Saturday and Sunday.
