Following a night of heavy rain especially in The Channon, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a minor flood warning for the Wilsons River.


The Channon received 200mm since 9am yesterday, Dunoon 162mm, Corndale 112mm, Jiggi 94mm, Nimbin 64 while 67mm was dumped t Lismore airport.


The amount of rain across the Wilsons River catchment has led to the minor flood warning.


The Wilsons River at Lismore (AHD) may peak near 5.20 metres around midday Saturday, with minor flooding.


There are reports of water across some roads with Lismore SES reporting Keerong Bridge Road at The Channon under water.



Wyrallah Road, East Lismore is closed near the Treatment Works, Whian Road, Eureka (300 metres south of Kings Road) and water in the lower level of Hensley carpark.

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.

  • Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
  • Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
  • Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
  • Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
