The Marist Brothers Rugby League U/16 Girls Tackle team have taken out the Grand Final in Grafton on Saturday.

The side went into the match as Minor Premiers, but a strong performance against rivals Clarence Coast saw them clinch the inaugural Major Premiership title 32-20.

It was an historic day for the club at McKittrick Park South Grafton, also fielding a team in the first Girls U/14 Grand Final.

Unfortunately for the younger side, they were unable to overcome Casino, going down 28-20 in the decider after playing the match without reserves, in what was described as a tough match.

Coaches John Brown and Chris King completed a great year with both teams and the future of the sport is looking great, with pathways now establish in both representative Girls Tackle Rugby League for both juniors and seniors and a senior competition slowly growing interest.
